Welcome to the AATE Community!

We are excited to welcome you to another year of connection, learning, and collaboration with the AATE community.

Our first gathering is shaping up to be an exciting one. On September 18, we hope to meet at Google’s Atlanta headquarters for a day focused on AI and Generative AI in K–12 education.

The meeting will be hosted by Sean Maxwell, Google Customer Engineer, who has also invited AI educators and experts from Georgia Tech to join us.

The working agenda includes:

  • AI and GenAI in today’s classrooms
  • What’s new and useful in Google Classroom
  • Real-world examples of AI integration in schools
  • Rethinking assessment in the age of AI
  • A hands-on vibe coding experience
  • NotebookLM and Gemini use cases for educators

Final details are still being approved, but we wanted to give you an early look at what is ahead.

Two more exciting announcements:

  • Data in Schools is coming to the Americas for the first time! Atlanta International School will host the conference on October 8–9 with the theme, Seeing the Whole Child in the Data. Educators and speakers from Atlanta and around the world will gather to explore how data can better support students. Learn more about the conference.
  • Lighthouse ATL is now accepting proposals! Mount Vernon Ventures will host this new conference at Mount Vernon School on February 22–23, 2027. With the theme Navigate Change. Design Learning. Illuminate the Future., Lighthouse ATL will bring educators together to share ideas, practices, and possibilities for the future of learning. Submit a proposal.

We are excited about the year ahead and look forward to learning, experimenting, and connecting together!

I hope to see you soon!
