Please register today for our next AATE event, which takes place at Woodward Academy on Tuesday, September 17.  This will be a packed-full meeting that you will not want to miss! This meeting is free of charge for members and our guest fee is $15.

Our keynote will be Aaron Levy from Georgia Film AcademyAaron will help us learn about the film industry in Georgia and then will dive deeper into what the GFA calls the “pipeline" of Film/TV education, which include the curriculum and teacher training they are implementing at the high school level on up. This includes the new upper school Dramatic Writing course (content creation), the AVTF curriculum/training (production) and the AVID curriculum/training (post-production) that is coming very soon.

Participants who want to participate in the school tour at 10 am will enjoy many stops including a visit to see our Omniglobe, how we have implemented the cost-effective Creality 3-D printers across our campus, Esports, and our robotics, engineering, film and graphic arts labs.

The remainder of our meeting with be spent learning about the latest free and cool resources from Adobe, Apple, Google and Microsoft. Participants will be blown away by the following 30-minute back-to-back presentations.

12:00 - What is new with Adobe Cloud Tools? - Joe Hutcheson, Ed.D. Journey Ed - Manager- ADOBE – Joe, who is a former teacher will share how to move from Device Licenses to Named User, SPARK which is free to use, how we can participate in the Georgia District Licensing program and cool AR/VR resources. 

12:30 - What is new with Apple? - Ron Broadnax, Account Executive GA - Apple Education - Ron will share tons of free Apple resources including the Clips app, Everyone Can Create (Teacher Guide) Drawing, Music, Photo, and Video, new coding resources, Classroom App, School Work (Easily share content with students, view students progress and provide instant feedback and more. 

1:00 - What is new with Google? - Erin Fields - Southeast Regional Program Manager - Google for Education - Erin will share new product updates to Google Classroom, Gsuite, and Chromebooks. She will also share top free Google Programs, like:- Be Internet Awesome, for Digital Citizenship/Online Safety,  Applied Digital Skills program, which helps students with "life skills" (like, how to build a budget, how to write a resume, how to get organized) and CS First coding program.

1:30 - What is new with Microsoft? -  Jihan Johnston-McGlotten, M.Ed., is Georgia's Microsoft Learning Consultant - Jihan will share many new, updated resources in Microsoft’s Office 365 including Teams, Learning Tools and the must-have Translator program. All of which can assist in providing innovative and digital practices in the classroom.
