Hi Everyone,

We are all so excited about the next AATE meeting which will be held at Georgia Tech at their incredible GTRI Building.  

We have free parking on the 4th and 5th floor of the parking deck which is between the GTRI Building and the CNN Building.

10:35 - 11:05 - Session 1: Professional Development - In this session you will learn about the various Professional Development opportunities offered through Georgia Tech - Barb Erickson, Office of Outreach and Computing & Chanteal Edwards, Program Coordinator for Engagement - Office of Outreach, Enrollment, & Community

11:05 - 11:35 - Session 2: Essential Technology Skills  - Cedric Stallworth, Assistant Dean for the Office of Outreach, Enrollment and Community; Jennifer Whitlow, Director of Computing Enrollment and four current students will share the skills that incoming students will be exposed to their first year. He will address the calculator use that is allowed, the type of learning management system and other programs that faculty use for communication and collaboration.

  • AATE Announcements:

1:00 - 1:30 - Session 3: Innovative Programs - Jay Summet, College of Computing, will share several technologies such as 3D printing, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Wearable Computing, CAD, LEGO, and Robotics and how these technologies can be effectively used in the classroom to promote thinking and creativity. He will also share workshops that he is willing to lead in schools.

1:30 - 2:00 - Session 4: Maker Spaces - Jeff Rosen, Ga Tech CEISMIC Robotics Program Director, is developing K12 Engineering and manufacturing STEM curriculum using Lego NXT's and 3D printing. He will share some of the essentials of setting up Makerspace.
